History of Success

OK, I'll be the first to post.
From our last session with our psychologist:

Every person has "a history of successes" - events in his past when he rose above himself, overcame a difficulty, made something good out of a bad situation. Our psychologist says, "go back into your history of successes, to each event, and try to think what it was that enabled you to find the strength at that moment." Every event that you add to your "history of successes" makes you stronger.
She didn't say, but I'll add: every person also has his own "history of failures". Every event you add to that makes you weaker.
So every time you have to make a choice - be it diet- or training-related, or whatever - remember that the sign pointing to one road (no matter where the road leads) reads "adding to your history of successes" and the other, "adding to your history of failures". It makes things clearer...
